The Story Behind The Why

I grew up in environments where safety wasn’t guaranteed. Because of that, I learned early how our surroundings shape our bodies, our minds, and our families. As a child, I lived with severe allergies, chronic headaches, digestive issues and while other kids bounced back quickly, I was the one who was constantly sick, yet I managed push through with determination like most kids do. As a small child I didn’t know how to articulate what was happening; all I knew was that something in my world felt heavier on my body than it did with my siblings and cousins.

In my early twenties, I became a mom to three beautiful children and without realizing it, stepped deeper into the very journey that shaped my purpose.

When my eldest son was still an infant, we noticed his little body breaking out in a full‑body rash and yet his doctor couldn't explain it. It was my mother-in-law (at the time), who discovered the culprit was something as simple as our fabric softener.
That was the first moment I realized this truth:
the things we bring into our home can quietly hurt us.

As the years went on, my own health struggles grew louder.
By my mid‑twenties, fatigue, dizziness, and brain fog took hold. Chronic bronchitis developed into asthma. My youngest developed eczema around age four or five.
Then, near the end of my twenties, my gallbladder failed.

By my early thirties, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. My body never seemed to get a break. And then my children began showing signs of their own battles:

My daughter started losing her hair from stress. My eldest son developed severe allergies, frequent nosebleeds, ear infections, and tonsillitis and my youngest son struggled with learning disabilities, insomnia, and ADD. (WTH!)

Three children. Three different symptoms and one exhausted mother trying to connect the dots. Something in our world was keeping our immune systems in constant fight‑or‑flight and it was frightening, frustrating, and expensive. We were living in survival mode without understanding why. Now, I was understanding what my own young mom had gone through with my sister's and I. It was pure frustration and stress!

By the time I reached my forties, I was diagnosed with autoimmune disorder (Hashimoto’s they called it) perimenopause, and somewhere along the line I had developed an ulcer. Our bodies were tired and overwhelmed, and despite all my efforts, no one was asking the questions I most needed answered.

These were also years marked by profound loss. Across my thirties and forties, I went through a divorce - lost my business - I lost grandparents, my step dad (who had raised me from the age of 4), and three of my brothers. Each loss carved a deeper space inside me where grief lived quietly.

And then, in 2023, I lost both my mom and my middle sister just four months apart, this one was the toughest. That season cracked something open inside me.

Grief has a way of stripping everything down to truth. And through the weight of loss, illness, and unanswered questions, something finally revealed itself: Our homes are not passive. They shape us. They influence us. They can quietly heal us… or quietly harm us.

What made this realization even more powerful was the work I was already doing as a personal trainer, nutritional consultant, medical massage / athletic performance therapist, and an interior designer. But even with all that knowledge, no one had connected the dots between our bodies… and our environments.

I had spent years creating beautiful spaces, unknowingly bringing in materials and products that could undermine health including in my own home, this was quite disturbing non the less.

At this point, I began searching for answers. This is when I learned about building biology, so I started learning more about it. I studied about indoor air quality, chemicals in materials, lighting, EMFs, and the way our environments speak to our nervous systems long before symptoms show up. It's a lot of information almost mind-blowing, but I 'm a curious and determined individual. When I started applying what I was learning to my own home, little by little, things began to change. I also had to remind myself "You don't know what you don't know" that I needed to be gentle with myself.

By this time I knew this was the missing piece that no doctor had ever mentioned.
This was the quiet cause and quiet solution I had been searching for. Today, this understanding shapes everything I do. I don’t diagnose. I don’t treat medical conditions.
I don’t offer fear‑based advice or overwhelm families with pressure. I help you see the unseen. I help you understand the environmental stressors shaping your health.
And I give you a clear, compassionate path toward creating a home that supports your nervous system, your immune system, and your peace.

My mission is simple:

To help families create healthier, calmer homes that protect their well‑being mentally, emotionally, and physically without confusion, fear, or perfection.

If my story does anything, I hope it brings you awareness. I hope it brings you clarity.
And I hope it empowers you to take small, meaningful steps that make your home a place where your body can finally breathe with ease.

Because healing doesn’t always start in a doctor’s office. Sometimes, it starts at home.
